Lawrence, Kan. – Kyle Maynard, best-selling author and focus of the ESPN documentary “A Fighting Chance, will share his inspirational insights into dealing with daily challenges we often find overwhelming during the Sunrise Celebration at the 2023 GCSAA Conference and Trade show in Orlando.
Born with a rare condition known as congenital amputation, that left him with arms that end at the elbows and legs that end near his knees, he learned early on to live life independently and without prosthetics. He is the first man to bear crawl to the top of the highest mountain in Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro and the summit of Argentina’s Mount Aconcagua.
He is on a mission to make the world a better place and to inspire others to do the same by sharing his story and living by example. He travels across continents, speaking to thousands of executives and students, athletes and warriors, to share his “No Excuses” philosophy. He is a humanitarian who passionately supports numerous charities and commits time and resources to work with wounded and recovering U.S. military veterans.
“Many in our industry face challenges that they often find insurmountable,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “Kyle’s story of breaking down barriers while living his “no excuses” philosophy is truly inspiring and can be used as a model for every individual and facility team to embrace the idea of “leading-out”.
Maynard’s inspirational session is part of a week of events designed to help you be more productive, celebrate our members’ and industry leaders’ achievements, improve your skills and find products and services to meet your needs and improve your performance.
The Sunrise Celebration, featuring Kyle Maynard, will take place at 8:00am Wednesday, February 8 in the Valencia Ballroom of the Orange County Convention Center with doors opening at 7:30am. The event is open to all GCSAA Conference and Trade Show badge holders.
