Inaugural Landscapes Golf Management ‘Lead the Way on the Longest Day’ Summer Solstice Program Raises $65,000 for Charities

August 18, 2026

LINCOLN, Neb. – Landscapes Golf Management’s inaugural “Lead the Way on the Longest Day” summer solstice program raised $65,000 for On Course Foundation and charities local to 25 participating golf courses, country clubs and destination clubs in the company’s portfolio.

With America averaging roughly 15 hours of daylight on Sunday, June 21, Landscapes Golf Management-operated properties hosted sunrise-to-sunset golf tournaments, marathon rounds, twilight events, clinics, family games, theme parties, concerts, merchandise promotions, raffles, auctions, matching donations, dollar roundups and other member, guest and community activities with monies collected that day earmarked for non-profit giving.

Sioux Falls Golf (S.D.) – comprised of Elmwood, Prairie Green and Kuehn Park courses – led the way with 560 golfers across 54 holes while Broadlands Golf Club (Broomfield, Colo.) and Shoreline Golf Course (Carter Lake, Iowa) recorded 258 and 185 players, respectively.

Creativity reigned supreme with Dakota Dunes Country Club (Dakota Dunes, S.D.) golfers registering a whopping 83 holes, Pacific Springs Golf Club (Omaha, Neb.) running a “Blue Out” event mandating golfers wear shades of blue apparel, and River Run Country Club (Davidson, N.C.) producing an emotional parent-child outing.

Scores of golfers nationwide were dressed in camouflage in salute of On Course Foundation.  The organization uses golf to help military veterans build confidence, develop new skills, and access training and golf-industry employment opportunities.

“Landscapes Golf Management’s altruism is second to none,” said Dan Nevins, Executive Director of On Course Foundation.  “It’s rewarding to see its golf courses drive communities to support our nation’s service men and women who put their lives on the line to protect all our freedoms.”

Scores of golfers nationwide were dressed in camouflage in salute of On Course Foundation.  The organization uses golf to support wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans as they build confidence, develop new skills, and create new opportunities through employment, training and other means of assimilating them back into society.

Local benefactors spanned junior, senior, military, health, animal and environmental causes.

For golfers and non-golfers who were unable to participate at a Landscapes Golf Management property, direct donations to On Course Foundation are made here.

“Our first year producing the summer solstice program was exciting for charities, golfers and our company,” said Scot Wellman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Landscapes Golf Management and one of the program’s principal architects.  “Next year is bound to even bigger and better activating the communities we serve for the shared purpose of supporting meaningful causes and having fun in the process.”

Lead the Way on the Longest Day aligns with Landscapes Golf Management’s core values: lead, do what’s right, find a way, take care of each other and be the best.  Also widely known for its culture-first altruism and creating real social impact, the company’s on-site team members are thriving by running profitable businesses by way of excellence in leadership, teamwork, hospitality and philanthropy.

In addition to Wellman, the 2026 planning committee was led by Craig Franke (Monroe Golf Club, Monroe, Wisc.), Hunter Johnson (The Golf Club Devils Tower, Hulett, Wyo.), John Kane (Butler’s Golf Course, Elizabeth, Pa.) and Murphy Klein (corporate marketing).  Committee members will rotate every year as part of the company’s “L University” training curriculum.
