Since 1990, Fisher House Foundation has provided a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving treatment at major military and VA medical centers. Its network of 76 comfort homes has provided over 335,000 families with no-cost lodging, allowing families to be close by while a loved one undergoes treatment and recovery.
“Having two sons and a daughter-in-law in the United States Marine Corps, we love what Fisher House does to keep military families close to their loved ones,” says Christy Lapp, captain of Team Birddog, the leading fundraisers for WLGO two years running. “It’s absolutely wonderful what they do, and we’ll continue to strive towards our goal of over $20,000 raised to support fellow service members and their families across the country.”
