NEW YORK, New York – Leaderboard, a USGA®-connected social golf app built for on-course games and wager-tracking, today announces the rollout of exciting new features aimed at transforming the playing experience for golfers, groups and tournament organizers nationwide. Available on the Google Play store and iOS, Leaderboard has become a vital tool for golfers, providing unparalleled insights, social engagement, and competitive edge since its debut in summer 2022.
Leaderboard’s latest product updates center around a new tournaments platform, which includes:
- Live scoring for up to 100 players
- Wager tracking, with real-time updates on where players stand on money games
- New game formats to support a majority of the games groups play, including Stroke Play, Stableford, Match Play, Nassau, Scramble, Alternate Shot and Chapman
- Optional Skins Pots alongside any game type
- Side games, a new wager-tracking engine that allows players to track unlimited games at the same time against any player or team in any group on the course
- Autopress tracking for Nassau and Match Play wagers
The app’s latest updates support events of all sizes, enhancing the competitive and social experience for groups. “We’ve talked to countless organizers of weekend money games, buddy trips, and outings, and found that the tools available for everyday golfers to organize and run their own games are lacking,” said Riley Pratt, Leaderboard’s Founder and CEO. “We built features for groups that make events more fun and give a home to the history and identity that so often live in a spreadsheet or an email chain.”
Beyond tournaments, Leaderboard also invested in expanded golfer profiles and its single-player tracking experience. Golfers on the app can now leverage:
- A new WatchOS application, equipped with GPS functionality and scoring capabilities for all players in the group
- Enhanced stats and trends with filterable time scales, offering deeper insights into performance metrics
- Enriched user profiles, including a comprehensive history of handicap trends, a global map showcasing rounds played worldwide, and customizable stats and scoring graphs
- Penalty tracking, showing golfers how many strokes they’re giving away
- Post-round stats recaps, highlighting key performance indicators against historical averages
- Total score posts, which offer a convenient way for golfers who leave their phone in their bag to log rounds and share activity with friends
The app’s games and tracking features are backed by its USGA® integration, which allows golfers to link and post to their official Handicap Index®. Golfers’ Course Handicap™ and Playing Handicap™ are calculated automatically for games using their up-to-date index.
Leaderboard’s latest enhancements represent a significant leap forward in the realm of golf apps, offering a dynamic platform where golfers can track progress, build a scoring record, leverage their Handicap Index in a user-friendly games and events platform, and share on-course activity with friends.
