CITY OF LEXINGTON, K.Y., PARTNERS WITH GOLFNOW AS IT REOPENS FOR GOLF

City’s Five Golf Courses Back in Business Since April 22 with GOLFNOW Pre-Paid Tee Time Technology as Part of its Safety Protocols

ORLANDO, Fla. – As golf courses across the state of Kentucky adjust their businesses practices to safely welcome back golfers after being shuttered nearly a month, GOLFNOW has forged a new partnership with the City of Lexington and its five golf courses, providing technology and services with features allowing golfers to book and pay for tee times in advance.

As a new member of the GOLFNOW platform, the City of Lexington’s golf courses now benefit from the industry’s leading tee-time booking engine technology, as well as inclusion within the world’s largest distribution marketplace. As part of its safety protocols on social distancing, the city has moved 100 percent of its tee-time inventory online with GOLFNOW and is requiring all payments to be made in advance through the GOLFNOW website.

“Being shut down at the beginning of the season definitely has impacted our revenue,” said Curtis Mitchell, City Golf Director. “We needed to find a way back, while also addressing important concerns about the safety of the public and of our own staff. Part of that process has been enlisting the technology and services that GOLFNOW provides, which also complement the safety precautions we have enlisted for our facility.”

In just two weeks since shifting their reservations to 100 percent online using GOLFNOW technology, more than 1,700 unique individuals have booked tee times across the city’s five golf courses. Each course has consistently sold more than 90 percent of its available tee times, with more than 1,000 rounds sold through the GOLFNOW platform.
