ORLANDO, Fla. – GolfNow and Pennsylvania’s Liberty Forge Golf Course today announced a new addition to their existing partnership, destined to show how “practice makes perfect” in generating additional revenue for the club.
Liberty Forge has installed Toptracer Range technology within its popular Activity Center, complementing an already successful technology and services partnership with GolfNow, which includes GolfNow’s G1 management system and its far-reaching tee-time distribution platform. The Toptracer technology, developed and marketed by Topgolf, is included among the bundle of services and amenities offered by GolfNow.
“We are excited to bring Toptracer to Liberty Forge and south-central Pennsylvania,” said Ben Haugh, Owner and General Manger, Liberty Forge Golf Course. “This new technology brings our driving range experience to a whole new level, along with our new barbeque restaurant, deck and mini-golf offerings, it’s unique outdoor fun!”
Recent research from the National Golf Foundation has shown that more Americans are playing off-course forms of golf in addition to the traditional 18-hole round on green grass. With Toptracer Range technology, Liberty Forge now adds a Topgolf-like experience, which will attract both avid and novice golfers by transforming its range into both a practice and entertainment destination. The technology combines tech and fun to create a superior experience that is perfect for all skill levels, including serious golfers looking for ways to improve their game, as well as fun-seekers who can play a variety of games or virtual golf on simulated courses.
The Toptracer Range system uses the same ball-tracking technology that traces the shots of the game’s best players on television. Included is a hardware/software package that tracks the flight of a standard range ball within a camera feed and provides users with real-time 3D ball flight data analytics, such as ball speed, apex, curve and carry integrated into virtual graphics.
“The revenue and golfer goodwill this activity can generate deserves attention among course operators with a serious interest in new revenue and a lead position in their local market,” said Joe Del Rossi, National Director of Sales for GolfNow.
According to Del Rossi, 61 percent of Toptracer Range installations at golf course have been profitable within one year, while 93 percent have seen significant food-and-beverage increases from range users. Liberty Forge is the only golf facility within 66 miles offering Toptracer Range technology.
Located in Cumberland County in southern Pennsylvania, Liberty Forge offers a picturesque setting for its 18-hole, par 63 golf course that features a selection of holes designed to provide as much a challenge of any full-length layout. A jewel of the facility is the course’s Activity Center, situated along the scenic Yellow Breeches Creek and offering a full-service driving range, Mini Golf Course and the Creekside Treat Café. The location also is great for hosting events and parties, including tubes and transportation for a float down the Yellow Breeches.
