Manchester, England: British apparel brand Stuburt continued its sensational start to the LIV Golf season this weekend courtesy of wins at LIV Golf Hong Kong for ambassadors Sergio Garcia and his Fireballs G.C. team, and second place finishes for Dean Burmester and Stingers G.C.
The Stuburt sponsored players and teams performed consistently well across the weekend, before accelerating towards the finish line with Garcia shooting a final round -7 and Burmester finishing with a -8. They led the way for their teams, who put in consistently high performances, with Garcia’s Fireballs G.C. finishing one shot ahead of Stinger G.C. on -37.
“After LIV Golf Adelaide where the top 4 finishers and team winners were wearing Stuburt, I wasn’t sure where the season could go,” commented Graeme Stevens, Managing Director of Stuburt. “But these guys never cease to amaze us. Joaquin Niemann led the way last event, and now Sergio steps up with Dean hot on his heels. And a second team win on the bounce for Fireballs shows the incredible consistency the guys are producing. We’re delighted to be helping the teams look and feel great on the course, but they really must take the credit for the performances they keep putting in.”
After three rounds of the LIV Golf season, this result propels Sergio Garcia to the top of the season standings, just ahead of compatriot John Rahm. Dean Burmester sits in third place, with fellow Stuburt player Joaquin Niemann, captain of Torque GC just behind in 4th. With Sebastian Munoz (6th), David Puig (8th), Abraham Ancer (9th) and Carlos Ortiz (10th) all wearing Stuburt, seven out of the top 10 players are Stuburt ambassadors.
For the team rankings Fireballs G.C. are firmly at the top of the standings, with fellow Stuburt teams Stinger GC and Torque GC in fourth and fifth position in the chasing pack.
The LIV Golf schedule moves on to Singapore and Miami before the Masters in early April. Stuburt is delighted that four of its sponsored players will be wearing the brand at the Masters, as previous champions Charl Schwartzel and Sergio Garcia, along with Joaquin Niemann and Jhonnatan Vegas take on the first Major of the year.
