West Caldwell, NJ, – The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) today announced that general admission tickets for Wednesday, October 6th, Pro-Am Day at the Cognizant Founders Cup, will be FREE of charge, courtesy of the New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey PGA Section.  The Cognizant Founders Cup will take place from October 6th-10th at historic Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell, NJ.

Wednesday, October 6th marks the first day of tournament week as the gates are open to the public for the Pro-Am, as the world’s best professional golfers prepare to compete for a $3 million purse, making it the largest LPGA Tour event purse outside the majors and the CME Group Tour Championship.

Gates open at 6:45am and close at 6:30pm, as the Pro-Am morning wave tees off from 7am – 9am, with the afternoon wave from 11:50am – 1:50pm. Each respective group will feature one LPGA TOUR professional – competing in the tournament – on the front 9 with a second LPGA TOUR professional joining the group on the back 9, as golf fans will have an opportunity to get close to the action.

“Through this generous partnership, the New Jersey Golf Foundation is standing behind its mission of positively impacting lives and communities through the game of golf, and we could not be more appreciative,” said Scott Wood, Tournament Director, Cognizant Founders Cup.

To complement Pro-Am Day activities, the NJGF will host a complimentary golf skills clinic on the upper range from 4pm – 6pm, where New Jersey PGA Professionals will be on-site to provide expert golf instruction to girls and boys in attendance.

“It’s a privilege for the New Jersey Golf Foundation to support the LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup, while inviting golf fans and families from across the state to enjoy complimentary general admission on Pro-Am Day,” said Chris Hunt, Executive Director, NJGF. “Mountain Ridge Country Club is a terrific venue, and it’s truly inspiring for girls and boys to watch these incredible athletes perform on the golf course.”

Tournament parking for the Cognizant Founders Cup, from October 6th – October 10th, is located at 4 Becker Farm Rd, Roseland, NJ. Daily parking is $15 and can be purchased in advance or on-site.  For more information, or to purchase individual tickets and week-long ticket packages, please visit www.thefounderslpga.com. Keep up-to-date with all of the latest on the LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup joins a long list of prominent events to be held at Mountain Ridge Country Club, including the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship in 2012, the Metropolitan Golf Association Open Championship in 1985, 1996, 2000 and 2020; the MGA’s Ike Stroke-Play Championship in 2007; the New Jersey PGA Section Championship in 1962, 1990, 2007, 2009 and 2017, and the French American Challenge in 1997. The Ross-designed and highly regarded course opened in 1931 and has varied little in 90 years. It is known for wide fairways and deceptive greens. A recent restoration has brought many of Ross’s characteristic run-off areas back to their original closely mowed state.
