LONDONDERRY, NH – ECCO – a leading manufacturer of innovative footwear – announces that Ambassador Lydia Ko captured her first win of 2022 at the Gainbridge LPGA on Sunday.
Wearing ECCO BIOM® G3 Lydia kicked off her tournament with a blistering nine-under-par 63 on Thursday and led the field from then on. A 72 on Saturday set her up for a calm and collected three-under-par 69 on Sunday to win by one shot.
“Last year, even though I didn’t win on the LPGA at the end of the year, I put myself in contention quite a bit and I think when you keep knocking on the door you feel like at one point it’s going to open.” said Ko. “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, especially around a golf course like this. I just continued to stick to my game plan, and I think this kind of – it proves to myself. I think that’s the biggest thing.”
“It is brilliant to see Lydia at the top of her game and winning tournaments once again. Lydia is truly one of the world’s best, and this victory is a fantastic way for her to kick off her 2022 season” said Jesper Thuen, General Manager, ECCO GOLF USA. “We are extremely excited to see Lydia on the world stage this year, and we look forward to giving her our continued support.
Ko played in Florida wearing women’s ECCO BIOM® G3, a design which features hard-wearing ECCO YAK leather uppers and a waterproof GORE-TEX® construction that keeps feet dry and comfortable in all conditions.
