Magnolia Green Golf Club Welcomes New General Manager, Head Golf Professional and Sales Director
Magnolia Green – central Virginia’s premier multi-generational and active lifestyle community – welcomes three new leadership team members to propel the Magnolia Green Golf Club and its clubhouse restaurant and event venue to even greater heights.
- Tim Bello, General Manager: A Richmond native, Tim brings over 18 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. He boasts a diverse background in full-service dining, including experience as the Culinary Manager of Bonefish Grill and General Manager of both Capital Ale House and Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery in Short Pump, Virginia. The proud Marine Corps veteran has a passion for golf, spending time outdoors with his family and the intersection of the brewing and culinary scenes.
- Marc DeSisto, Head Golf Professional: Raised on the southside of Richmond, Marc returns home with over 25 years of experience in the golf industry. A former two-sport collegiate athlete (soccer and golf), he has worked with golf clubs across the country from south Florida to northern Michigan. Most recently, he owned and operated Dynamic Golf Academy just outside of Atlanta. Marc is also a Certified Master Club Fitter for Callaway Golf and in 2018 was elected into the Callaway Golf Professional Hall of Fame.
- Alissa Tarr, Sales Director: Originally from northern Virginia, Alissa comes to Magnolia Green Golf Club with a wealth of experience in sales and event management. Having worked at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club and the Club Managers Association of America, she possesses both a public relations background and an expertise in sales and event planning. Alissa is a graduate of East Carolina University and is currently pursuing her Masters of Business Administration at George Mason University.
“The Magnolia Green Golf Club plays an integral role in connecting our community and attracting new guests and visitors,” says Tom Page, Vice President of iStar. “All three of the additions to our club team bring the ideal mix of local knowledge and national expertise to take us to the next level.”
In 2017, Magnolia Green Golf Club opened the doors on its award-winning two-story, 15,000 square-foot Craftsman-style clubhouse, boasting a full-service restaurant and bar – The Grille – and golf pro shop. Featuring stunning vistas of the golf course, the clubhouse, which is open to residents and the public, offers 4,800 square feet of event space plus a 1,300 square-foot covered rear dining area.
In support of the clubhouse, a new 1,600 square-foot golf instruction training facility with four hitting stations, a SAM Puttlab putting green, FlightScope X3 Launch Monitor and club repair station was introduced last year. The enclosed complex is open year-round and led by Leighann Albaugh, who has been lauded by Golf Digest as one of America’s Best Young Teachers. Leighann offers lessons and oversees a variety of camps and classes throughout the year.
Magnolia Green Golf Club will welcome the Washington Redskins for the River City Classic for the second straight year this summer. In addition to the charity golf event, the course and clubhouse will continue to host high school golf championships, as well as live music every Thursday. A warm-weather concert series, Groovin’ on the Green, will return in 2019 and is open to the public.
