NEW HAMPSHIRE BUSINESS LEADER NAMED TO LIST OF TOP 25 BOARD PRESIDENTS IN THE WORLD
Manchester Country Club’s William “Bill” Stevens Honored by Boardroom Magazine
Manchester Country Club recently announced that Mr. William “Bill” Stevens, club president and local business leader, has been chosen among a group of the world’s best as a “Top Private Club President” by BoardRoom Magazine, the only publication of its kind designed to educate the industry about all aspects of the club business, golf course management and operations.
Next to presidents of Medinah Country Club and Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club, Mr. Stevens was selected as one of 25 “most outstanding” private club presidents recognizing his efforts toward the betterment of his club and to represent the essence of outstanding leadership by a board president and macro-management in the private club industry. His nomination is the first in the history of Troon, the world’s largest golf management company providing services at more than 360 locations, and Manchester Country Club’s management company of record.
As noted by BoardRoom Magazine, “These board presidents, chosen from clubs in the United States and Canada, understand the importance of working, effectively and efficiently, with their volunteer boards and the dedication that’s required from everyone with whom they work.”
A N.H. native and Civil Engineering graduate of University of New Hampshire, Bill Stevens is the current president of Harvey Construction, a leading construction manager headquartered in Bedford, N.H., focusing on commercial projects of all sizes in northern New England, including hospitals, nursing homes, education facilities, office buildings and municipal projects. In addition to serving as the president of Manchester Country Club’s Board of Directors, Bill serves on leadership boards of the Palace Theatre, NH Business Committee for the Arts, NH Institute of Arts and Associated General Contractors of NH.
“Bill Stevens’ forward-facing outlook is the key to our success today, but more importantly, for tomorrow,” said Manchester Country Club General Manager, Brian Kelley. “He has a wonderful ability to allow others to do their parts, and this format has brought us much success—our members are prouder of their club than ever before. We are structured with a long-term, sustainable plan that will allow us to continue our long tradition of being the best private club and event venue in the Granite State with far-reaching impact into our community and into the regional golf landscape.”
