MANCHESTER (VT) COUNTRY CLUB RECAPTURES MAGIC AND ENJOYS MEMBERSHIP SURGE AND SUCCESS

Southern Vermont’s Premier Golf Course Offers New Member Fall Promotion for 2023

MANCHESTER, VT  — Manchester Country Club (MCC), one of southern Vermont’s premier golf courses, has evolved from a championship golf course and club into a fun, family-oriented club with golf, tennis and social events, youth camps, clinics, and an infusion of new inter-club activities.

The club’s new leadership has recaptured the magic that began when MCC was imagined some 50+ years ago. MCC hired new GM Michelle Dougherty and Head Golf Professional Pete Weatherby in 2021, and in 2022 tapped Rob Aubin, as the new head tennis pro. A 30-year pro whose tennis programs have earned top-ranked national status, Aubin has introduced new formats, events and instruction and expanded MCC’s tennis programs and participants.

In less than two years, MCC’s changes have resulted in more than 130 new members with the club well on its way to reach full membership for golf and tennis.

“We have experienced a wonderful transformation of our club’s culture, welcoming many new members to complement the long-standing members and families who consider MCC part of their family history,” said Dougherty. CCM General Manager/COO, MCC. “We have a great mix of people with varied recreational and social interests. Whether you golf, play tennis or are looking to relax and get away from it all, MCC offers a casual club atmosphere and social events with various overlooks and views of the Green Mountains rising in the distance.”

In approaching near capacity, MCC is introducing a membership promotion where new members can join in September for next year’s 2023 membership. In doing so, their 2022 dues and the initiation fees for 2023 will be waived. MCC’s Initiation Fee will only apply to new members who join in 2023 or after. If you join the Fall Promotion effective September 1, you pay a non-refundable deposit toward 2023 dues equal to 50% of current membership dues and play golf and tennis the rest of the season without paying 2022 dues or fees.

Golf at Manchester:

MCC’s championship golf course offers a spectacular design, dramatic elevation changes and the region’s best greens. The 18-hole “Manchester” course in Manchester Center, Vermont features 6,675 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.7 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Bent grass. Designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish, ASGCA, the Manchester golf course opened in 1969.

About Manchester Country Club:

MCC is a private, member owned club situated in the beauty of southern Vermont. MCC offers a social calendar full of member events ranging from golf, tennis, and social gatherings. Open for play since 1970, the Geoffrey Cornish designed course has been recognized as one of the finest in New England. MCC has a proud history of supporting golf on all levels and has hosted prestigious local and regional tournaments including the 2021 New England Senior Amateur Championship, 2021 US Senior Amateur Qualifier, the 2020 Vermont PGA Stroke Play Championship and the recent 2022 New England Junior Amateur Invitational.

The Club also has Clay courts and a Trackman Launch Monitor in the summer months. The Club can host events up to 120 people. Memberships to suit your needs and wants and lessons are available, with golf and tennis clinics and events held throughout the season. For more information call or visit www.mccvt.com.
