ORLANDO, Fla. (May 24, 2018)- Marriott Golf, one of the world’s premier golf operators, has once again teamed up with PGA REACH-the charitable foundation of the PGA of America-for the 3rd annual Hit the Green for HOPE promotion that supports PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) golf programming for United States military Veterans with disabilities.
Kicking off the year-long campaign on Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-28), golfers have the opportunity to take part in the Hit the Green for HOPE promotion at many participating Marriott Golf properties nationwide. After donating $10, any player who hits the green with his/her tee shot on a designated par-3 hole receives a certificate valid for a 30 percent discount on golf shop merchandise. Participants who do not hit the green receive a certificate valid for a 15 percent discount. The certificates are valid through Dec. 31, 2018, at the golf shop of the participating property. All proceeds from the campaign will support and enhance PGA HOPE programming.
PGA HOPE is the flagship Military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. The HOPE program introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities, in order to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Led by PGA Professionals, PGA HOPE is a proven activity that has helped thousands of Veterans assimilate back into their communities through the social interaction golf provides. All PGA HOPE programming is fully funded by PGA REACH and offered at NO COST for military Veterans. Participants in PGA HOPE programs include military Veterans living with physical or cognitive challenges, such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and amputees, among other challenges.
“Marriott is excited to team up with our partners at PGA REACH for our annual Hit the Green for HOPE campaign,” said Claye Atcheson, Vice President, Marriott Golf. “It is rewarding to see the immeasurable positive impact the game of golf has on so many Veterans.”
“We’re delighted that Marriott Golf will once again host Hit the Green for HOPE throughout Memorial Day Weekend,” said PGA REACH Senior Director Ryan Cannon. “This annual support will help us provide programming opportunities to Veterans and Service members across the country through PGA HOPE.”
In addition to Memorial Day Weekend, the 2018 Hit the Green for HOPE campaign will also take place at various locations throughout the calendar year. Several Marriott properties offer unique versions of the program, such as donation raffles, clinics and golf tournaments. Golfers should call the golf shop at each property for specific details.
