PING welcomes top teachers Nilsson, Marriott as Brand Ambassadors
PHOENIX – Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson, two highly recognized instructors and co-founders of the VISION54® program and golf school, signed as PING Brand Ambassadors, announced PING President John K. Solheim. Both are listed in Golf Digest’s 50 Best Teachers in America for 2019-20.
VISION54’s golf schools, 54GOLF, at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., is consistently recognized among the leading golf schools by the golf media.
“Besides the instant credibility they bring as instructors, they look beyond swing mechanics and coach people how to improve their mindset on the course because a sound mental game factors into lower scores and greater enjoyment,” Solheim said. “They help golfers develop skills to improve their focus and self-awareness — what they call one’s ‘performance state’. They also believe that custom fitting and playing better equipment make a big difference in a golfer’s ability to play up to their full potential. Our team of engineers and fitting specialists look forward to working with them with the goal of helping golfers play better and enjoy the game more.”
Marriott and Nilsson also operate a program, 54COACH, which instructs coaches and teachers like themselves. “They have the credibility and experience to teach those who teach,” Solheim said.
The two have coached players to well over 100 victories on the LPGA, PGA, European, Ladies European, and Japan tours. They’ve coached nine different major winners and four #1-ranked players in the world. Nilsson was also captain of the 1998 European Solheim Cup team and is a former PING professional on the LPGA and European tours. She first met Karsten and Louise Solheim while competing for Arizona State University’s women’s golf team.
“I’ve had a strong connection with the Solheim family and PING my entire golf career,” said Nilsson, who was also head coach of the Swedish National team for 10 years. “I still remember getting custom fit for my clubs by PING’s distributor in Sweden as a junior golfer.”
“PING is such a widely respected brand and their longtime leadership in custom fitting made it perfectly natural to align with them because that’s what we do – customize a learning program for each golfer attuned to the way they learn,” Marriott said.
Nilsson added, “We are all about getting the most out of your game, as PING is, and you can’t do that unless your clubs are professionally fit. We are beyond excited to be working with and representing the team at PING.”
