Palm Beach Gardens, FL — Ohio State golfer and Jack Nicklaus™ Brand Ambassador, Neal Shipley entered professional golf’s world stage in a debut that dreams are made of.
After meticulous preparation, Shipley garnered low amateur honors, a final round pairing with Tiger Woods, and a seat in the Butler Cabin next to World No. 1 and champion Scottie Scheffler. It’s safe to say Shipley’s first Masters experience was one for the history books.
“With the week I’ve had, I think I’d have to win one of these things to top this week”, Shipley remarked.
Shipley’s stellar performance through the first two rounds landed him under the cut line – the only amateur in the field to do so. This secured his spot as low amateur of the 2024 Masters Tournament going into the weekend and a guaranteed trip to Butler Cabin for the green jacket presentation. To top it all, his final round pairing was with a legend in the game, Tiger Woods. You probably couldn’t ask for a better ending to his fairytale debut.
“I was a little nervous, but playing with Tiger was very cool, what a great guy,” commented Shipley. “He was so down to earth, just a really good guy to enjoy a round of golf with, especially at Augusta on Sunday.”
At Augusta National, Shipley sported outfits throughout the week from the Jack Nicklaus™ Blue Label by Perry Ellis and the Jack Nicklaus™ Black Label collections. This brand partnership will continue on for the U.S. Open at Pinehurst next week, where Shipley will showcase pieces from both collections.
