MORRISTOWN, NJ. – (June 25, 2018) World-renowned golf instructor Michael Breed joined Swiss watchmaker OMEGA today at the OMEGA Golf Trophy event at Morris County Country Club in Morristown, N.J.
OMEGA, Official Patron of the PGA of America and Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, hosted the 11th and final tournament today that made up the 2018 OMEGA Golf Trophy series. Breed hosted a golf clinic for the competitors and visited with them during their round on the course.
OMEGA began the second-annual OMEGA Golf Trophy series in Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 23. Over the course of the year, the brand hosted 11 VIP events at prestigious golf courses in Orlando, Houston, Naples, Fla., Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Ariz., Honolulu, Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas.
The top threesome from each local-qualifying tournament will now be guests of OMEGA at the 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis this August, where they will compete to become this year’s overall champion.
Last year, at the conclusion of the inaugural OMEGA Golf Trophy Finals in August, Michael Phelps and 2017 Masters Champion and fellow OMEGA ambassador, Sergio Garcia, presented awards to the winning team. The winning threesome was presented with the Aqua Terra 150M OMEGA Master Co-Axial 41.5 mm Golf Edition, trophies and custom-made golf bags featuring Garcia and Phelps.
Breed is the 2012 PGA National Teacher of the Year. He is now the host of “A New Breed of Golf with Michael Breed”, the first golf program supported by Facebook Watch. Breed is Golf Digest’s Chief Digital Instructor, where he focuses on the innovation in golf instruction and oversees the “Best Young Teachers” program, and he hosts “A New Breed of Golf” on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio. Michael operates the Michael Breed Golf Academy at Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point. He is ranked as one of the Top 50 Golf Instructors in America by both Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine.
The 2018 PGA Championship, to be held Aug. 9-12, marks the 100th edition of one of the most anticipated golf events on the calendar. The greatest golfers in the world will compete for the Wanamaker Trophy. OMEGA has enjoyed a relationship with the PGA of America for the last eight years.
