HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Srixon staffer Miyu Yamashita successfully defended her title at the Maybank Championship on Sunday, securing her second consecutive victory. Delivering another impressive performance from start to finish, Yamashita closed with a 4-under-par score and earned a two-shot victory.
Yamashita established herself at the top of the leaderboard early in the week, opening with rounds of 65-66-67 before entering Sunday’s final round with a two-shot advantage. Maintaining her composure under pressure, Yamashita carded five birdies in her final round, including a clutch birdie on the 18th hole to secure the victory.
The win marks Yamashita’s fifth career LPGA Tour title and third victory of the 2026 season, adding to an already impressive year that includes wins at the Meijer LPGA Classic and CPKC Women’s Open. This back-to-back win also makes her the first player to win the Maybank Championship in consecutive years.
