The new M.CRAFT OMOI introduces heavyweight stability into Mizuno’s forged putter line-up
Mizuno, the Japanese equipment manufacturer long renowned for its beautiful, industry-leading forged irons and technically advanced golf clubs, introduces three new M.CRAFT OMOI putters featuring a heavier head for greater stability.
Forged from premium 1025 carbon steel and CNC milled, using all the successful fundamentals of the original M-Craft models, the OMOI putters feature a heavier head weight to increase MOI for improved stability.
Mizuno has achieved greater stability in the OMOI by taking a view of the entire club – balancing out the increased head weight with a lighter grip and shaft to shift the club’s CG and help control face rotation through the putting stroke.
There are three traditional OMOI head styles: OMOI 01 is a Slant Neck Blade (60-degrees of toe hang, ¾ shaft offset). OMOI 02 is a Plumber’s Neck Blade (40-degree of toe hang, full-shaft offset). OMOI 03 is a Full Mallet (Face Balanced, full-shaft offset).
At a weighty 370 grams (#1, #2) and 383 grams (#3), OMOI putters offer increased MOI for added stability.
Every putter also comes with an additional weight kit – including a pair of 3g and 13g weights that are interchangeable with the 8g fitted as standard.
“Our testing showed that locating more of the overall club weight in the head provided more consistent face rotation through impact,” says Mizuno’s Director of R&D David Llewellyn. “We’ve added up to 28g depending on the model, without increasing size or losing the precise feel of the original M.CRAFT. Plus, unlike most MOI orientated putters – the new OMOI also give incredible feedback off the face.”
M.CRAFT OMOI putters are available in three stunning finishes – New Double Nickel, bold Blue ION or intense Black ION. There’s also a Black Out option that comes with KBS Tour Black Ion-plated shaft, Lamkin OMOI Sink Fit Pistol grip and upgraded, blacked-out M.CRAFT headcover.
