Mizuno Golf, the Japanese equipment manufacturer founded in Osaka in 1906, is excited to become the presenting sponsor of the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT), as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support aspiring golfing talent.
With its HQ in Atlanta, Georgia, Mizuno Golf USA is ideally placed to partner with the SJGT – a tour that hosts some 40 events in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, for more than 1,000 junior golfers.
“It’s a perfect synergy for Mizuno to become the presenting sponsor of the SJGT,” said Jeremy Galbreth, Senior Director of Golf for Mizuno USA. “Mizuno is one of the few Original Equipment Manufacturers with an HQ in the southeast and, like the SJGT, our company is committed to identifying and supporting talented young golfers. Earlier this year we appointed Lauren Smith as Player Development Rep as part of a plan to focus on identifying and supporting younger talent. This partnership with the SJGT further bolsters our efforts in this direction.”
Based in Auburn, Alabama, The SJGT was founded on the principle of giving junior golfers a chance to play competitive golf while building their resume for a potential collegiate golf career.
“This partnership with Mizuno Golf is a perfect fit for our organization,” said Todd Thompson, the SJGT Executive Director. “Both entities are focused on providing the best experience for golfers whether it’s through the finest equipment or best opportunities. Mizuno is a trusted brand and is played by professional, amateur, and junior golfers. We’re excited to enter into this relationship and look forward to a long and meaningful partnership.”
This new partnership with the SJGT further demonstrates Mizuno’s commitment to supporting aspiring male and female golfers.
“I’m looking forward to beginning these partnerships and working with these players,” said Lauren Smith, Player Development Rep for Mizuno. “It’s exciting to see our brand focusing more efforts and resources towards the next generation of players.”
The news follows a recent announcement that Mizuno became an Official Partner of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) through 2024, sponsoring multiple events on the AJGA schedule annually.
