THE DUAL-PURPOSE FACILITY TO BE NAMED “THE FOUNDRY” WILL BECOME MIZUNO’S NEW R&D TESTING CENTER AS WELL AS A TOUR-FIT STUDIO
Mizuno, the Japanese equipment manufacturer, has announced exciting plans to open a new R&D Testing center and Tour-Fit Studio called ‘The Foundry’ at The Standard Club in Johns Creek, Georgia.
Set for opening in late 2023, The Foundry will not only be of benefit to members at The Standard Club, but it will also give consumers the chance to get a Tour-style fitting session at a Mizuno facility.
Mizuno is renowned for its expertise in performance golf equipment and for its presence on the main professional golf Tours, where the company provides top players the very best in custom fitting and equipment guidance. With the opening of The Foundry, the golfing public will be able to experience the same level of expertise and advice.
“We are excited to provide consumers a place to truly experience the Mizuno brand,” said Jeremy Galbreth, Senior Director of Golf for Mizuno. “The Foundry will showcase everything from product research and development, to club fitting opportunities, the custom build process and much more. When we made the decision to build this state-of-the-art facility, we knew we wanted to partner with a premier golf facility that had shared values. The Standard Club and its members share our vision of adding value to the golf industry through innovation, quality and service. We look forward to unveiling The Mizuno Foundry at the Standard Club in late 2023.”
Scott Mahr who is General Manager and COO of The Standard Club is equally enthusiastic about the venture.
“The Standard Club is excited to be the host facility for the new Mizuno Foundry,” he said. “To be a partner in future R&D for an industry leader in golf equipment allows us to be part of moving forward in the game we all enjoy.”
Mizuno’s multi-year partnership with the Standard Club to build and run The Foundry will see a full tour workshop on site, as well as a Mizuno robot and various launch monitors for testing purposes.
“Our R&D team is very excited to embrace this partnership. The Mizuno Foundry at The Standard Club will feature the latest research and development technology to advance our golf club product development to a new level,” said David Llewellyn, Director of Equipment at Mizuno. “Another facet that is equally exciting is the consumer facing, state of the art fitting studio. This puts our R&D team in position to, not only advance our R&D capabilities, but also to infuse learnings directly from the consumer experience and further advance our fitting capabilities into the future.”

Set over 300 magnificent acres, The Standard Club is a golf and tennis club boasting an 18-hole Championship golf course designed by Arthur Hills. It has been recognized as one of the top-20 courses in Georgia.
