Morell Studios created the perpetual trophy that celebrates the winners of Jack Nicklaus’ famed Memorial Tournament. This unique trophy celebrates the tournament’s past champions and is a permanent fixture in the Muirfield Village trophy case.
Jack Nicklaus came to Morell Studios founder Pat Morell with a piece of crystal and charged him with creating a unique trophy that symbolizes the excellence the tournament embodies. The Memorial perpetual trophy is made from hand turned cherry wood with solid sterling plates of each winner. The base features sterling silver plated egg and dart ornamentation with a laurel wreath at the top of the base. Morell Studios has maintained a 40-year relationship with Jack and Barbara Nicklaus.
In addition to creating The Memorial trophy, Morell Studios creates tournament awards for Muirfield Village Golf Club. This includes awards for the champion and flight winners of the Bearfoot Classic. They also created the award given to The Memorial Tournament honoree. The 2019 honoree was Judy Rankin.

That led to Pat handling a variety of assignments for Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara that continue to this day.
