Motocaddy Delivers Its Biggest Ever Remote-control Electric Caddy Rental Fleet

Motocaddy, the world’s leading electric caddy brand, has delivered its biggest ever remote-control rental fleet to a private member-owned club in Maryland.

Woodmont Country Club, just a short drive from Washington, D.C., placed an order for 60 award-winning M7 GPS REMOTE electric caddies to meet its growing rental needs, following an extensive search for the most complete option on the market. This involved a group of members immersing themselves in product testing to ensure that the incoming rental fleet met the club’s high service standards and enhanced the golfing experience for members and their guests.

The esteemed venue joins more than 1,000 rental suppliers worldwide that have placed their trust in Motocaddy. These include Top 100 rated clubs such as Royal County Down, Gleneagles, Royal Cinque Ports, Royal Liverpool, Royal Troon, Royal Porthcawl, Ballybunion, and Lahinch in the UK & Ireland, plus New South Wales in Australia.

“We always strive to offer our members and their guests the best possible experience, and it was clear after our thorough research that Motocaddy could meet these demands,” says Grant Strawoet, PGA Head Golf Professional at Woodmont Country Club. “Reliability ranked as a top priority when selecting the rental fleet. Because the units would be in daily use, we needed a workhorse platform known for durability, performance and consistent uptime.”

The super high-tech M7 GPS REMOTE models have been a big hit from both a product and service perspective, with the club prioritizing factors like the advanced GPS capabilities and after-sales support to ensure a seamless operation.

“Equally important was partnering with a provider willing to collaborate on repairs, support, and contingencies, while the GPS-enabled features emerged as a major selling point by enabling geolocation to guide members away from greens and hazards such as bunkers and ponds,” added Strawoet. “This investment adds a valuable club amenity that encourages more members to walk the course, while also contributing positively to the golf operation’s budget by improving efficiency and potentially reducing maintenance and replacement costs over time.”

Commenting from Motocaddy USA, VP of Sales Andy Warren, PGA, said: “We are thrilled that Woodmont Country Club selected our hugely popular M7 GPS REMOTE electric caddies for its rental needs after an extensive search for the most suitable option. Our rental program is all about elevating a golfer’s walking experience, while also ensuring a strong return on investment for course operators, and we are excited to showcase this to even more clubs going forward.”

The compact-folding M7 GPS REMOTE is the world’s most intelligent remote-controlled touchscreen electric caddy. Stand-out features include ultra-responsive remote navigation with cutting-edge GPS technology, Bluetooth® smartphone alerts and super-fast WIFI for firmware and course updates showcased on a crystal-clear 3.5″ LCD touchscreen display.

Motocaddy offers three additional electric caddy models in its rental program, including the M7 REMOTE. Designed to deliver responsive control and exceptional handling across all terrains, it provides golfers with forward, left, right, and reverse navigation, as well as pause, resume and emergency stop functionality for ultimate control. It includes a rechargeable handset with an impressive remote-control range of over 100 yards, while also allowing users to switch to handle control when preferred.

Designed to deliver an unmatched on-course experience for clubs and resorts, the M5 GPS DHC features high-performance GPS technology with full hole mapping to provide precise distances to the front, middle and back of the green, along with essential hazard information and the ability to adjust the flag position.

The M1 DHC model is also available within the rental range. Recognized as the simplest-to-use electric caddy in the world, it is engineered for exceptional storage efficiency – 15 folded units occupy a footprint comparable to that of a single ride-on cart. The high-performance Downhill Control (DHC) feature enables the caddy to maintain a consistent speed when traveling downhill. An electronic parking brake on the DHC versions delivers enhanced stability and control on uneven terrain.

“Initial feedback from members and guests has been very positive and enthusiastic,” Strawoet says. “Members who were new to electric caddies are enjoying the experience and using them repeatedly throughout the spring season. Additionally, members who were already using electric push carts have also seamlessly switched to Motocaddy electric caddies, further validating their value and ease of use.”
