Leading electric caddy brand supports diversity & inclusion at golf’s top level
Motocaddy, the world’s top-selling powered golf cart company, was one of three Official Partners at the recent Lead Golf Together summit – a pioneering event designed to encourage more diversity, equality and inclusion at the game’s highest levels.
Hosted by the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), the invitation-only event took place in Charleston, SC, on 6-7th October, with Motocaddy sponsoring activity alongside other leading golf equipment brands PING and John Deere.
The summit featured keynote speakers and opportunities for attendees to connect socially, along with a ‘fireside chat’ about the struggles and successes of diversity in leadership. A popular golf outing at the newly-renovated Charleston Municipal Golf Course was followed by a discussion about the process of creating an impartial and inclusive leadership culture across golf industry businesses.
Influential delegates included representatives from the boards and C-suites of America’s leading golf associations, as well as leaders representing organizations successfully connecting diverse and underrepresented communities to the game.
“We really appreciate the enthusiastic support from Motocaddy, a brand that clearly understands what we are trying to accomplish with this initiative and I’m looking forward to working with them and other leading partners to advance our cause in the years ahead,” said Jay Karen, Chief Executive Officer of the National Golf Course Owners Association.
“Motocaddy is incredibly proud to be among the first brands to feature as an Official Partner of this industry-changing initiative and we’d like to thank the NCGOA for the opportunity to be involved,” said Motocaddy U.S. President, Roger Teat. “As a brand that’s served golfers around the world for more than 17 years, Motocaddy has always been about offering everyone the opportunity to enjoy the game and reach for the stars, so this was a great fit for us,” he added.
The program included a distinguished slate of minority business and political leaders, including event moderator Michael Williams, an award-winning journalist and a leading consultant in the areas of communications and organizational culture . “Since launching in the U.S. last year, I’ve been impressed by the Motocaddy products and the team working to promote them. It’s great that such a visionary and successful global company wants to take meaningful action to make a difference for the whole golf community here in the U.S,” said Williams.
