CARLSBAD, Calif. – Nippon Shaft won its second PGA Tour event in the last two weeks Sunday (July 31) and recorded its sixth win on global tours over the same time span.

The 32-year-old three-time U.S. Ryder Cupper from Salt Lake City won his second consecutive PGA Tour event when he shot a tournament record total of 26-under par at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. He used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour120 TX flex steel shafts in his irons and N.S.PRO MODUS³ Wedge 125 in his wedges to shoot a 262 total with rounds of 64-66-65-67 at Detroit Golf Club.

The champion led the event with 66 of 72 greens in regulation enroute to his fourth PGA Tour career victory, his third in the last year. Last week, he won the 3M Open outside Minneapolis. He earned $1.512 million for the Rocket Mortgage win, giving him a total of $2.862 million in winnings over the last two weeks.

Last week (July 24), Nippon Shaft products were used to win championships on five global tours – the Senior LPGA Tour, LPGA Tour, PGA Tour, DP World (European) Tour and the Japan LPGA Tour.

“Nippon Shaft congratulates the winner of the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “The Champion demonstrated his continued confidence in Nippon Shaft products, as he has been using our shafts for a number of years.  We are pleased that he feels Nippon Shaft produces the highest quality shafts in the industry and that Nippon Shaft gives him the best chance to win at the highest level of competition.”

More than 200 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour and Korn Ferry Tour use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy, and trajectory.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands.  Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com

Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia.  Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer.  Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.
