NBC Sports Announces Early Celebrity Commitments for the 2026 American Century Championship, July 10–12

Tournament Coverage Across NBC, Peacock and NBCSN 

STAMFORD, Conn. – NBC Sports announced television coverage and early commitments for the 37th annual American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, set to return to Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Lake Tahoe, July 10-12.

NBC Sports will present tournament coverage Friday-Sunday, July 10-12 across NBC, Peacock and NBCSN. In addition, the networks of NBCUniversal will surround tournament week with comprehensive news and digital coverage.

Three members of the gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Team – Matthew Boldy and brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk – will join a star-studded field of more than 80 superstars across sports and entertainment converging upon Lake Tahoe in early July. Boldy and the Tkachuk brothers will be grouped together during the opening round on Friday, July 10.

Joining them in headlining early commitments for the championship include defending champion and former NHL star Joe Pavelski, 2023 champion Stephen Curry, three-time champion Tony Romo, two-time champion Mardy Fish and fan favorite Charles Barkley.

The tournament will feature sports stars including Hall of Famers from the NFL, NBA and MLB, active and retired players, Hollywood actors, comedians and entertainers. The three-day, 54-hole event features a $750,000 purse, with $150,000 going to the winner, plus a charity component for local and national non-profits.

Early commitments include fan favorites Jason Kelce, Colin Jost, Miles Teller, Ray Romano, Nate Bargatze, Larry the Cable Guy and Jack Wagner, who along with Jim McMahon are the only two players who have competed in every tournament.

A number of first-time participants will compete in the American Century Championship, including Baltimore Ravens Safety Kyle Hamilton, Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl LX champion Head Coach Mike MacDonald, ABC/ESPN Broadcaster Sean McDonough, Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell, Boston Celtics Guard Payton Pritchard, NBA Hall-of-Fame Coach Doc Rivers, Tennessee Titans Head Coach Robert Saleh, Florida Panthers’ Winger Brady Tkachuk and Country Musician Brett Young.

Current NFL stars entered into the championship include Davante Adams, Kyle Juszczyk, Trevor Lawrence and Baker Mayfield. Pro Football Hall-of-Famers in the field as early commitments include Drew Brees, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Charles Woodson, Tim Brown, Brian Urlacher, DeMarcus Ware and Dwight Freeney.

World Golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam also is set to return to the American Century Championship, making her seventh appearance. She finished in seventh place in 2025 and boasts a second-place finish in 2014 and a third-place finish in 2024. She has never finished outside of the top-10.

Retired MLB stars committed to the championship include Hall-of-Famer John Smoltz, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Derek Lowe, Hall-of-Famer Joe Mauer, Kevin Millar and Chase Utley.

Joining Stephen Curry from the NBA in the tournament field as early commitments are his father, Dell and his brother Seth, also a guard for the Golden State Warriors. Joining them include Hall of Famers Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Grant Hill, 2021 American Century Championship winner Vinny Del Negro, Sacramento Kings All-Star Zach LaVine and Philadelphia 76ers Guard Kyle Lowry, Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Alex Caruso and Los Angeles Lakers Guard Austin Reaves.

Actors, comedians and musicians returning to the American Century Championship include Anthony Anderson, Nate Bargatze, Brian Baumgartner, Chris Harrison, Colin Jost, Rob Mac, John O’Hurley, Jake Owen, Michael Pena, Alfonso Ribeiro, Rob Riggle, Ray Romano, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus.

The 2026 American Century Championship will utilize the Modified Stableford format whereby points are awarded by score per hole. Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, a George Fazio design, has been rated by Golf Digest Magazine as one of “America’s Top 100 Golf Courses.” Since the tournament’s inception in 1990, the American Century Championship has donated more than $8 million to charity and non-profits, including the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a 500-person, nonprofit basic biomedical research organization.
