Saturday-Sunday Coverage on NBC & Peacock Delivers Best Weekend Viewership for the Event since 2006
Event Sets Attendance Record with More than 86,000 Spectators
STAMFORD, Conn. – NBC Sports’ presentation of the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament – highlighted by Mardy Fish winning for the third time – delivered the largest final round audience for the event since 2004, averaging 1.5 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, based on official Nielsen Big Data + Panel and digital data from Adobe Analytics.
In addition, a record 86,038 spectators attended in-person at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
Among the viewership highlights:
- The 1.5 million viewers for Sunday’s coverage (2:29-6:03 p.m. ET) on NBC and Peacock is up 49% from last year (1.0 million) and ranks as the largest audience since 2004 (1.6 million viewers).
- Combined Saturday and Sunday coverage averaged 1.3 million viewers on NBC and Peacock – the best weekend viewership for the event since 2006 and up 44% from last year.
Lake Tahoe took center stage last week for the 37th edition of the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament that featured an elite field of 90 participants from throughout the world of sports and entertainment competing in the 54-hole championship at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, July 10-12. NBC Sports presented comprehensive coverage across NBC, Peacock and NBCSN, with the networks of NBCUniversal surrounding tournament coverage all week in delivering robust linear and digital coverage.
Fish, who won a silver medal in singles at the 2004 Athens Olympics, won his third American Century Championship title with 72 points in the modified Stableford format, outlasting 2025 champion and hockey great Joe Pavelski (66 points), NBA great and 2023 champion Stephen Curry (59 points), and World Golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam (58 points). Fish received the crystal trophy, awarded annually to the tournament champion, and a new American Century Championship “lab coat,” introduced this year in homage to American Century’s investment in medical research. He also won the event in 2020 and 2024.
