Second Annual Fundraising Effort for Folds of Honor will Extend to Include Entire Month of May on GolfNow
ORLANDO, Fla. – NBC Sports Next will reprise its philanthropic initiative for the Folds of Honor military and first responders charity, which raised more than $75,000 over two weeks in 2022, with a “round-up” fundraising campaign on its GolfNow tee-time service spanning the entire month.
Throughout May, messaging on GolfNow will encourage anyone booking a tee time online or via its mobile apps to round up the cost of the booking. The additional money will go to an overall fund that will be used to contribute a donation to Folds of Honor to help further its educational opportunities for the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled who protect our communities and country.
“Our golfers are heroes helping other heroes through this campaign,” said Jerramy Hainline, SVP, GolfNow. “We’re proud to stand with them and salute the American military and first responder families assisted by the Folds of Honor organization, and to know that we are making a positive change in their lives.”
GolfNow operates the largest online tee-time marketplace in golf and is the industry’s leading provider of golf course operations software and services to more than 11,000 courses worldwide. Anyone booking tee times on GolfNow from May 1-31will be provided the opportunity to round up the total cost of the reservation to an even-dollar figure. For example, if the cost of a tee time totals $34.65, the golfer can elect to round up the cost to $35, donating the additional $0.35 to Folds of Honor.
“We are again so grateful to NBC Sports Next, GolfNow and the entire NBC family,” said Lt Col Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor. “Last year’s initial campaign was a huge success and in 2023 it will be bigger and better by including the entire month of May. NBC understands the importance of a life-changing education and is committed to doing something about it.”
This effort on behalf of Folds of Honor is a part of NBC Sports Next’s Better Together community impact initiative. Similar round-up campaigns on GolfNow have helped raise funds for Youth on Course and the non-profit organizations aided by the NFL’s Salute to Service initiative. The ongoing campaign for Youth on Course has raised more than $2 million since December 2020.
