ORLANDO, Fla., – Sunday’s final round of the AIG Women’s British Open posted a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 1.188 million average viewers per minute (11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. ET; P2+) across NBC Sports’ platforms, up 23% vs. 2018 and becoming the most-watched final round telecast at this event in 13 years (2006, ABC).
Sunday Final Round at the AIG Women’s British Open Also Becomes:
- The most-watched LPGA Tour telecast on any network to-date in 2019.
- The most-watched LPGA Tour telecast since the final round of the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open.
- The most-streamed LPGA Tour round in 2019 with nearly 690,000 minutes streamed.
- The third straight year that the Women’s British Open delivers the highest-rated and most-watched telecast of any women’s major championships that year.
NBC Sports’ final round television coverage peaked at 1.33 million average viewers from 1:30-1:45 p.m. ET as 20-year old Hinako Shibuno birdied the 18th and final hole to win her first major championship by one shot over Lizette Salas.
Saturday’s viewership on NBC also becomes the most-watched third round telecast of any LPGA Tour event in 2019 with 702,000 average viewers (11 a.m.-2 p.m. ET, P2+), and the most-watched third round since this event in 2018 (740,000 average viewers). NBC Sports’ combined weekend television coverage – 922,000 average viewers – is up 9% vs. 2018 and second most-watched weekend at this event in 13 years, behind only 2017 coverage on NBC.
DIGITAL: Across four days of coverage, 1.9 million minutes were streamed, making the AIG Women’s British Open the most-streamed women’s golf event in 2019 and second most-streamed LPGA event on record behind the 2018 Women’s British Open and the ANA Inspiration (2.2 million minutes streamed).
