“The Langley – A Tribute to Legends” to benefit PGA HOPE Northern California, and the Jim Langley Scholarship Fund

VACAVILLE, Calif., August 7, 2024 – The Northern California PGA Foundation announced today its 16th Annual fundraising event, “The Langley – A Tribute to Legends” slated for August 12-13, 2024 at the prestigious Pebble Beach Resort in Pebble Beach, California. The Langley is a fundraising golf and social event designed to honor the game’s legends where proceeds support the Foundation’s programs.  In its 16th year, the 2024 Langley Honorees will include: Butch Harmon, former PGA Professional and legendary TOUR Coach out of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Ken Morton, Sr, PGA of America Life Member and NCPGA Hall of Famer.

Supported by Title Sponsor Caesars Entertainment, and Founding Sponsor Capital Insurance Group, the event has raised over $1,500,000 for charity.  Commenting on the event, Mr. Chase Stigall, PGA, Senior Vice President of Player Development at Caesars Entertainment Corporation, said “Caesars Entertainment and the Carano family are honored to support such a prestigious event as The Langley.  Our support empowers the NCPGA Foundation to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Veterans through PGA HOPE, and aspiring young golfers through the Jim Langley Scholarship Fund.  Together, we are forging a brighter future for the golf community and beyond.”

Also lending their support to the Foundation are Media Partner NBC Universal via NBC Sports Bay Area and KNTV, and Apparel Partner Full Turn Direct. Another well known partner is Chevron through its funding of the Chevron-Langley Veteran Scholarship Award.

Proceeds from The Langley will benefit PGA HOPE Northern California, The Jim Langley Scholarship Fund, and the Chris Thomas PGA Associate Scholarship Fund – all programs of the NCPGA Foundation.

The Northern California PGA Foundation’s flagship program is PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), a six week long therapeutic golf instruction program, free for military Veterans, designed to improve their mental, physical, and social health all while having fun learning to play the game of golf. The rehabilitative golf program is free to military Veterans, and since 2015, PGA HOPE Northern California has served over 2,200 Veterans. Led by Northern California PGA of America Golf Professionals, the Foundation currently offers PGA HOPE programs twice a year at twenty-five golf facilities throughout Northern California.

“As citizens of this great nation, it is our responsibility to support Veterans when they return from duty and this program funded with your generous support and taught by PGA Professionals is key to help provide the support they need, utilizing the greatest game of all,” said Suzy Schneider, Northern California PGA Foundation Program Manager.

All proceeds go directly to PGA HOPE Northern California in order to meet the demand for more programs to serve the hundreds of thousands of Veterans within the Northern California community.
