Cave Creek, Ariz. – Rancho Mañana Golf Club in Cave Creek, Ariz. recently completed construction of a new 199-foot-long by 9-foot-wide steel truss bridge connecting holes 2 and 3. The new bridge spans Cave Creek Wash and virtually eliminates the long-standing challenge of when water levels rose during and after heavy rains, the old bridge would submerge, forcing the closure of holes 3 through 9. The new bridge ensures uninterrupted play and a safer, more reliable route across the golf course.
Rancho Mañana Golf Club is owned and managed by the Arizona Hideaway Collection. The new bridge took 11.5 months to construct and was built by Tiffany Construction Company. Recent rains over the holidays had Cave Creek Wash flowing to levels that would have closed the old bridge and seven golf holes. The new structure operated as designed, allowing the club to operate under business-as-usual conditions.
“The new bridge solves an issue Rancho Mañana has been dealing with for years as the previous structure frequently flooded during rainstorms and forced the closure of seven holes,” said Rancho Mañana Golf Club Head Golf Professional Carolyn McMullen, PGA. “It’s another step in our ongoing commitment to enhancing the on-course experience for our golfers, while ensuring safer access and uninterrupted rounds—even after stormy weather.”
Rancho Mañana Golf Club sits on what was once a 1940s dude ranch, where visitors came to enjoy the rugged beauty of Cave Creek. Designed by Bill Johnston in 1989, the par-70 course spans 6,016 yards, offers stunning elevation changes and panoramic mountain views, plus the chance to play through some of Arizona’s last remaining riparian zones. The front nine winds through Cave Creek Wash, while the back nine surrounds a large lake, offering contrasting styles of play. The combination of historic charm and modern golf design makes Rancho Mañana stand apart from other Arizona courses.
