Nicholas Pepe, Senior Partner at UBS Honored as 2022 Chairman’s Award Recipient
Bedminster, N.J., – The New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey Section, PGA of America (NJPGA), today announced that the 16th Annual NJGF Golf Classic hosted at Baltusrol Golf Club on Monday, August 8th, raised more than $210,000 to support golf programming for youth, military Veterans and individuals with special needs.
The signature fundraising event on the Foundation’s annual calendar, the NJGF Golf Classic served as an opportunity to honor Nicholas Pepe as the 2022 Chairman’s Award recipient. The Chairman’s Award is given annually to an individual who works tirelessly behind the scenes to support NJGF programs and initiatives, and Pepe, a Managing Director of Wealth Management at UBS, has been an advocate and supporter of the NJGF’s diverse line-up of programming for many years.
The NJGF was created in 2004 to positively impact lives and communities through the game of golf, with a focus on 3 core pillars: youth, military, and special needs. Under the guidance of PGA Professionals, programming is designed to provide individuals from all backgrounds with an opportunity to experience the game of golf in a welcoming environment. Through a wide range of programming, the NJGF champions a commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) with the goal of evolving the composition of the game of golf to better reflect the broad array of differences in our society at large.
“This is an opportunity for our partners, donors and friends to experience Baltusrol Golf Club, while further supporting our mission and enabling us to make a more meaningful impact in the communities we serve,” said Chris, Hunt, Executive Director, NJGF. “It was also terrific to recognize Nicholas Pepe for his selfless contributions to the NJGF.
Proceeds from the 2022 NJGF Golf Classic will support programs at the Inspiration Golf Range & Activity Center located on the Lyons Campus of the VA New Jersey Health Care System, in Bernards Township. The multi-purpose facility, which opened earlier this year serves as the new homesite for the NJGF’s line-up of golf programming, which include: PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) a rehabilitative golf program for military Veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI; Special Olympics New Jersey Golf; Els For Autism; PGA Junior League and more.
