Urbana, Ill. – Oskee’s Sports Pub, a new restaurant and neighborhood pub at Atkins Golf Club at the University of Illinois, will open this spring. The rebranded eatery reopens with an entirely new interior vibe and sense of place, honoring the relationship between Atkins Golf Club, the University of Illinois, and the Champaign-Urbana community.
Celebrating the rich legacy of Fighting Illini athletics, Oskee’s Sports Pub is named for “the yell that fills every heart with joy,” the good ‘ol fight song of Illinois—Oskee-Wow-Wow! Oskee’s will be a lively neighborhood pub bringing together generations of families and friends, alumni and fans, to toast cherished traditions, cheer on Illinois teams, and rally around the table over delicious food and drink. Breakfasts will be geared toward golfers, with quick and convenient options including egg sandwiches, wraps, pastries and parfaits. The all-day menu will feature a selection of shareable plates, comfort foods, and local favorites. Signature items, such as the “Winning Burger” include a dusting of gold-colored seasoning on the brioche bun, a subtle tribute to the University’s championship winning teams.
“We’re excited to partner with Troon Golf to open Oskee’s this spring. Oskee’s will be a family-friendly sports bar that will provide golfers quality food and service before, during and after the round. In addition, Oskee’s will be a great addition to Urbana and the entire community, which will welcome the non-golfer who is just looking for a casual sit-down restaurant bar to meet up with friends,” said University of Illinois Athletics Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director Marty Kaufmann.
RealFood Hospitality, Strategy & Design, a Troon Company, developed Oskee’s concept, menu, and food and beverage programming; and Troon will provide operational management of the new restaurant. With the University’s traditional blue and orange colors, combined with warm earthy tones and natural hardwood and metal surfaces, Oskee’s interior exudes a unique blend of luxury and authentic collegiate charm.
The restaurant’s new name was teased at the March 5th men’s Fighting Illini basketball game versus Purdue with “Oskee’s Sports Pub – Coming Soon!” emblazoned on the video board during a timeout.

About Atkins Golf Club at the University of Illinois
The vision of Stone Creek Golf Club came to fruition in 1999 thanks to Clint Atkins and architects Dick and Tim Nugent. The beautiful 18-hole course in Urbana, Illinois, provided a great test for locals and visitors for almost 20 years. In 2020, ownership shifted as The Atkins Family made an incredible gift of over 300 acres of real estate to the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois Foundation. Included in the gift, which was valued at $15 million, was Stone Creek Golf Club (which has now become Atkins Golf Club at the University of Illinois) and its associated buildings and equipment. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics partnered with architect Drew Rogers enhance an already strong golf course by rebuilding all greens, relocating many and rebuilding all bunkers using the Better Billy Bunker system, and adding length to allow the teams to stretch the course over 7500 yards. The renovation has resulted in a championship venue that provides a fun and challenging golf experience to players of all skill levels. Atkins Golf Club proudly serves as home course for the Fighting Illini Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams.
