SAN DIEGO, Calif. — StrackaLine, maker of golf’s premier greens guides, scanned the exclusive Newport Beach Country Club in Orange County, California so that the club could begin selling greens guides and have the ability to use StrackaLine’s Hole Location Software.
Newport Beach Country Club is in the heart of the city of Newport Beach and is host to the Hoag Classic on the Champions Tour. The club recently completed a $50 million renovation of its clubhouse and is looking to offer its members more tools to increase their level of play on the golf course. “I asked StrackaLine to come out to our club to scan our greens so that we could elevate the playing experience for our members by offering them the same books that are used by the PGA Tour players and the major D1 college golf teams”, said Newport Beach Country Club Director of Golf John McCook. “In my previous role as Director of Golf at The Santaluz Club in San Diego, we were strong supporters of StrackaLine and our members loved what StrackaLine had to offer.”
“Newport Beach Country club is a premier club and we are delighted to be working with their staff and members”, said StrackaLine president Jim Stracka. “Our software helps keep the hole location experience fresh and our greens guides benefit players at all levels of the game.”
The quality and accuracy of StrackaLine’s greens guides have led to widespread adoption on the PGA, LPGA, Symetra and Web.com tours, in addition to their use by more than 300 Division I college teams. StrackaLine scans courses for $1,500 and that includes 100 greens guides for resale. The scanning process takes five hours to complete and is unobtrusive to the golfer experience.
The greens maps, which feature easy to read arrows, allow players to view contour and fall lines, in addition to slope percentage, anywhere on the green.
