CHARLOTTE, NC – Playing spots and sponsorships are still available for the inaugural NFL Alumni Carolina Chapter’s Queen City Golf Classic, benefiting Shriners Hospital for Children, and the NFL Alumni- Carolina Chapter’s charity Caring for Kids.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 28 (parings party) and Monday, Aug. 29 (the tournament) at Pine Island Country Club. NFL Carolinas Chapter President Adrian Murrell and legendary Hall of Fame player Lawrence Taylor will host the Queen City Classic.
Teams of four, paired with an NFL Alumni selected at the pairings party Sunday evening, will compete in a scramble format for a chance to win and compete, all expenses paid, in the 2022 NFL Alumni Super Bowl of Golf Tournament. That is held September 23-24 at Mission Hills Country Club in Palm Springs, CA.

The tournament will benefit Shriner’s Children Hospital and NFL Alumni – Carolina Chapter’s “Caring for Kids.” Shriner’s Children Hospital is a preeminent provider of pediatric orthopedic care in the southeast United States and is home to the largest team of orthopedic surgeons in the Carolinas. Events such as the 2022 Queen City Classic have enabled the Shriners Children’s to provide comprehensive and child centered care since 1922.
NFL Alumni participate in numerous events nationwide similar to the Queen City Classic to serve hundreds of thousands of children annually across the country.
Tournament Schedule:
Sunday, August 28, 2022- 6 pm- 8 pm – NFL Alumni Draft Pairing Party: alumni paired with golf teams
Monday, August 29, 2022- Breakfast and Sign-In- 8 am; Shotgun Start- 10 am
Participation Fees: $650.00 per player or $2,500.00 per team.
Tournament includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, entry into contests and Super Bowl of Golf Qualifier prizes, player gift pack, pairings party, awards reception, and dinner following the tournament.
