NICKLAUS ACADEMY ORLANDO EXPANDS ITS JUNIOR ELITE TEAM
The Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf located at the Orlando World Center Marriott and Hawk’s Landing Golf Club continues to expand its successful Junior Elite Team concept. The select monthly membership provides promising junior golfers the opportunity to train and practice at the Academy on a schedule that best suits their school, activities, family and tournament plans.
In an effort to enhance the students training progress, new members of the Junior Elite Team are provided with a Blast Motion swing and stroke analyzer and a subscription to Blast Connect. “We have found that Blast is incredibly effective in working with our students, especially on their putting”, stated Brian O’Neill, Director of Instruction at the Nicklaus Academy. “Blast on its own provides great feedback that is instantaneous during lessons and practice. Combine that with Blast Connect and now our coaches can monitor the players’ progress and communicate back and forth regardless of location. It is seamless and easy to use.”
An example of this connectivity is evident with 13-year old PJ Maybank, a resident of Sheboygan, Michigan and a member of the Nicklaus Academy Junior Elite Team. PJ and O’Neill are able to work together from PJ’s putting green inside of his garage as he works on his putting stroke in preparation to defend his 2018 Drive, Chip and Putt title at Augusta in a few weeks. O’Neill, while based in Orlando, is able to see and analyze exactly what is happening with PJ’s stroke from Michigan and communicate his observations back to PJ.
The Nicklaus Academy Junior Elite Team has a combination of local players as well a number of out of area/out of state players that travel to Orlando for concentrated sessions with the Certified Nicklaus Academy instructors.
