Nicklaus Academy Orlando Welcomes New PGA Instructors to its Staff
The Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf, located at the Orlando World Center Marriott, announces the addition of two new staff members at the Nicklaus Academy. Porter Metcalf, Jr. and Jeremy Scott have joined Brian O’Neill, Director of Instruction, in delivering the proven Nicklaus Academies philosophy and the highest customer service to its students.
Mr. Metcalf, Jr, a PGA Class A professional since 2003, brings a wealth of experience as an accomplished player, successful instructor, golf writer, volunteer, and a 20-year US Marine Corp veteran to the Academy. His passion for the game spills over to his students of all ages and abilities. Porter has coached players that have excelled at the local level and continue all the way to AJGA Champions, collegiate All-Americans, USGA Champions, and at the professional level including a 7-time Major LPGA winner and a US Open Women’s Champion.
Mr. Scott, also a PGA Class A professional, is from Gaylord, Michigan. After graduating from Ferris State University’s Professional Golf Management program, he began working as an Assistant at the Jim McLean Golf School in Miami, Florida. Working alongside top teaching professionals, including Brian O’Neill, he gained experience with various technologies including Trackman, BodiTrak, K-Vest, and SAM Putt Lab. He maintains his active certification with the TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) and is a Callaway Certified Master Fitter.

He brings the hands-on experience with all of the latest technologies that we have at the Nicklaus Academy at Hawk’s Landing,” according to O’Neill. “With Jeremy’s club fitting expertise we can better maximize our students’ performance from the driver all the way to their wedges”.
