CARLSBAD, Calif. – Champions using Nippon Shaft products won on the PGA Tour, the DP World [European] Tour and the LPGA Tour last weekend.
The 29-year-old rookie and former UCLA Bruin used N.S. PRO WV 125 Wedge shafts in his wedges to win for the first time on the PGA Tour at the Mexico Open at Vidanta Vallarta. He shot a 19-under 265 with rounds of 67-64-63-71 to win by two in his fifth PGA Tour start this season. He earned $1.458 million for the victory.
On the DP World Tour, a 34-year-old from the Netherlands won the Magical Kenya Open, using N.S.PRO MODUS³ 120 X flex shafts in his irons to shoot 14-under par at Muthaiga Golf Club. His maiden DP World Tour victory paid $425,000.
On the LPGA, last week’s winner made it a double at the Honda LPGA Thailand, besting her closest competitor with a birdie on the 18th and final hole to win by a shot. The 24-year-old from Thailand used N.S.PRO 950GH shafts in her irons (5-PW) and N.S.PRO MODUS³ Wedge 115 shafts in her wedges to shoot 21-under par 267 at the Siam Country Club with rounds of 67-67-66-67. Her first victory in her native country paid $255,000.
