CARLSBAD, Calif. – The winner of the PGA Tour’s Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic used Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X flex steel shafts in his irons and wedges Sunday to record his first PGA Tour victory.
The 32-year-old Englishman made four straight birdies enroute to a final round 6-under-par 66 that gave him a one-stroke victory, a winner’s check of $684,000, 300 FedExCup points and a spot in both the upcoming PGA Championship and next year’s Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. He shot 19-under par with rounds of 67-66-70-66—269.
Although the victory was his first in 80 starts on the PGA Tour, he had won four times on the DP World Tour and finished T-7 at last week’s Valspar Championship.
“Nippon Shaft is very excited to congratulate the winner of the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “Nippon Shaft is focused on providing products of the utmost quality shafts to everyone who plays them from touring professionals to everyday golfers seeking to elevate their performance and enjoyment of the game.”
