CARLSBAD, Calif. – A 29-year-old Frenchman holed a 40-foot putt for a birdie 2 on the fourth hole of a sudden death playoff to win the Dutch Open after hitting 88.9 percent of his greens in regulation using Nippon Shaft products.
The champion used Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ N.S. PRO 120 TX steel shafts in his irons and MODUS Wedge 125 steel shafts in his wedges to shoot 13-under-par 275 in regulation with rounds of 67-70-69-69 to record his second victory on the DP World (European) Tour at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands. He earned €291,660 ($333,615) for the victory and a spot in the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews later this summer.
“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the winner of this year’s Dutch Open,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are proud that he used our products to such good effect and was able to hit such a high percentage of greens in regulation en route to his victory.”
