CARLSBAD, Calif.  – Players using Nippon Shaft products won on both sides of the Atlantic Sunday (May 30), as Nippon Shaft’s Modus series wracked up its 237th and 238th victories on global professional tours.

The winner of the Evans Scholars Invitational outside Chicago used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 130 steel shafts in his irons and N.S.PRO MODUS³ Wedge 125 steel shafts in his wedges to prevail Sunday (May 30) in his second straight Korn Ferry Tour victory He won last week at the Kansas City stop on the KFT.

The 24-year-old who played his college golf at Wake Forest dominated the field with an 18-under par total with rounds of 64-68-67-67—266 for a five-stroke victory margin. He had held at least a share of the lead in his last eight rounds on the Korn Ferry Tour and earned $108,000 for his latest victory, which moved him up to No. 14 on the KFT rankings. The top 25 at the end of the season earn a spot on next season’s PGA Tour.

Meanwhile, the European Tour winner in Denmark successfully defended his title at the Made in Himmerland tournament, where he used Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120x steel shafts in his irons and wedges. The Austrian shot 21-under par with rounds of 66-65-68-64–263 to win by five and earn a check of €229,480 or $262,500. Like the Korn Ferry Tour winner, his name was at the top of the leaderboard after every round.

“Nippon Shaft is excited to congratulate the winners of this year’s Evans Scholars Invitational and the Made in Himmerland tournament,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are pleased that both players relied on Nippon Shaft products and will be watching them closely as they continue to compete on the golf’s most elite tours.”
