CARLSBAD, Calif.  – A 40-year-old Japanese pro used Nippon Shaft steel shafts to author a five-shot victory at the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament at Phoenix Country Club in Japan.

The champion used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour Prototype steel shafts in his irons and N.S.PRO MODUS³ Hybrid steel shaft in his utility club to shoot 13-under par 267 with rounds of 67-66-67-67–267.

It was the veteran’s second victory on the JGTO (Japan Golf Tour) and his first since 2016.

“Nippon Shaft is thrilled that the champion of the Dunlop Phoenix tournament has earned his second victory on the JGTO,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “Nippon Shaft’s products are designed to assist players to perform at their best whether they are touring professionals or dedicated amateurs.”

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old native of Japan who uses Nippon Shaft products was the Japan LPGA’s leading money winner on the tour for 2025. She earned the distinction by winning four tournaments and finishing in the top 10 13 other times, earning a season total of ≠226,637,959 ($1.45 million).

The champion used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour Prototype steel shafts in her irons and wedges; the N.S. PRO Regio Formula MB+ graphite shaft in her driver; the N.S.PRO Regio Formula M+ graphite shaft in her fairway club, and the N.S.PRO MODUS³ Hybrid in her Utility club.

“Nippon Shaft is very proud of how our shafts consistently help up-and-coming young players chase their life’s journey to professional golf careers,” Fukuda said.

More than 200 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and HotelPlanner Tour use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy, and trajectory.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands.  Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com
