NIPPON SHAFT WINS SENIOR BRITISH OPEN
Nippon Shaft won its second consecutive senior men’s major Sunday (July 29) – and its third of the year – when the 54-year-old pony-tailed Spaniard captured the Senior Open Championship at St. Andrews in Scotland.
The champion used the Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 steel shafts in his irons and wedges to shoot a 12-under par total with rounds of 68-67-72-69—276 to win by one stroke at the home of golf. Two weeks ago, the winner of the Constellation Senior Players Championship won using N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 steel shafts in his irons and wedges as well.
Earlier this season, Sunday’s winner won the Regions Tradition – also a senior major – using the same complement of Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 steel shafts. He has now won six times in five seasons of senior golf.
Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ models now have won 18 times this year on pro tours around the world and for the 141st time overall. It was the eighth win this year for the MODUS³ Tour 105 shaft.
“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the champion on winning his second senior major,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are very proud that our N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 has become one of the most popular tour shafts and that our MODUS3 lineup of shafts are growing in popularity to help players perform at their highest level.”
