NIPPON SHAFT WINS ON WEB.COM and CHAMPIONS TOURS
Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 steel shafts were used by the winners of last weekend’s Web.com and Champions Tour tournaments.
The victories now give the MODUS³ Tour 105 three victories on major tours in 2019. Meanwhile, the wins were the 158th and 159th for Nippon’s MODUS series of shafts.
The winner of the Web.com Tour’s LECOM Suncoast Classic at the Lakewood National GC in Lakewood Ranch, Florida near Sarasota posted a two-stroke victory with a 26-under par total. The 29-year-old Denver native and San Jose State product shot rounds of 65-66-64-67 for a 262 total and earned $99,000.
Meanwhile, just down the road the Champions Tour winner made a five-foot putt for par on the first playoff hole to win the Chubb Classic at the Lely Resort in Naples, Florida. The 55-year-old Spaniard shot a 13-under par total 200 with rounds of 68-66-66 and defeated two others in the playoff. He won $240,000.
