KENILWORTH, N.J. – The New Jersey State Golf Association announced today that the purse of the Inaugural Women’s Open Championship will be $20,000. The Women’s Open, which will showcase women’s elite golf will be contested June 21-22 at Montclair Golf Club.
“The NJSGA is extremely excited to host our Inaugural Women’s Open at Montclair Golf Club and an announcement of this purse reflects our commitment to growing women’s golf in New Jersey,” said NJSGA President, Michael McFadden.
A breakdown of the purse, including the winner’s share, is dependent on professional competitors entered in the event.
The championship will be open to all professional females, and New Jersey amateur females with a Handicap Index not exceeding 9.6. The field will include 78 players, with 46 positions reserved for professionals.
The format will feature a walking-only, 36-hole stroke play competition over two consecutive days. There will be no cut in place for the inaugural event.
Registration remains open until June 1.
