St. Louis, Missouri – Norwood Hills Country Club has announced Eric J. von Hofen as the Club’s new General Manager. von Hofen has over 20 years of operational experience in private club and luxury resort properties, serving as General Manager, Director of Operations and Director of Agronomy throughout his career. He has had the privilege of playing integral roles at some of the most prestigious golf properties in the country, including Riviera Country Club and Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, FL, Calusa Pines Golf Club and Naples National Golf Club in Naples, FL, PGA West in La Quinta, CA, The Johns Island Club in Vero Beach, FL, and Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, OH. Eric served as General Manager of The Club at Weston Hills in Fort Lauderdale, FL, for the last three years.

Eric has extensive strategic planning and project management experience. His keen financial management and budgeting skills allowed for the successful planning and completion of projects ranging in total budgets from $3 million to $21 million. These projects included clubhouse renovations, new golf course construction, golf course renovations and capital plan projects.
Eric’s list of accomplishments include hosting 10 televised PGA events, interviews on NBC, CBS and the Golf Channel, numerous public speaking engagements and author of featured stories. But perhaps the most important accomplishment results from Eric’s leadership and team-building skills. Eric truly understands the importance of a well-oiled team machine, and understands that a high functioning team allows for successful goal achievement. Eric has helped develop the careers of 25 former employees that are now running clubs and golf courses around the world.
Norwood Hills Country Club
Founded in 1922, Norwood Hills Country Club (NHCC) is a leading family focused Country Club and golfing destination in St. Louis. MO. The Club is conveniently located within 15 minutes from downtown and the Lambert International Airport. Club amenities on the 380-acre property include a 61,000 square foot mission revival style clubhouse (originally designed in 1928), a resort style swimming pool, seven tennis courts, and two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by Landscape architect Wayne Stiles. NHCC is an active club that offers year-round activities for the entire family in a relaxed and comfortable setting. In 2005, the Club was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The Club has a proud history of hosting championship events, including the 32nd Women’s Mid-Am Championship and the 30th PGA Championship, won by Ben Hogan. Continuing this tradition, the Club will be hosting the Ascension Charity Classic, a Champions Tour Event, on September 9-12. The Club has committed to hosting this event from 2021–2024.
