It records the outstanding victories of Hideki Matsuyama of Japan and Jin Young Ko of South Korea – Matsuyama showed his class when he took on the best in the world and beat them on home soil to win the 2021 ZOZO Championship, his second victory for this year after the Masters. Ko, displayed her superior skills to regain the Rolex World Rankings’ top spot. ASIAN GOLF devotes this issue to mark the rise of men and women from Asia in the highly competitive professional game of golf. The pace has been set for Asia to continue to soar!
In another landmark development, the Asian Tour, in partnership with Saudi Arabi is set to launch 10 new major golf tournaments to take place every year over the next decade. The partnership comes with financial backing from PIF — the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund that has reserves of over US$500 billion and will be investing US$200 million in this new partnership. The new events will be staged across Asia, the Middle East and Europe and the series will be added to the Asian Tour schedule starting next year, making for a 25-event season. It promises both exciting and challenging times ahead in the professional game.
