Ocean Course at Hokuala Wins Third Consecutive World Golf Award
Kauai’s ‘Rising Star’ Again Named No. 1 Course in State of Hawaii
(KAUAI, Hawaii) – The Ocean Course at Hokuala – the acclaimed Jack Nicklaus Signature Course with a half mile of magnificent ocean views on Kauai – was named “Hawaii’s Best Golf Course” for the third consecutive year by the 2019 World Golf Awards.
The honor adds to a string of significant acclaim for the Ocean Course and Timbers Kauai, also recognized as a Top-30 Resort in Hawaii by the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.
“We are so grateful to again earn this distinguished World Golf Award, particularly in the golf-rich state of Hawaii,” said Kellie Hines, PGA head golf professional at the Ocean Course at Hokuala. “These honors are a true testament to our goal of providing genuine service and experiences at our beautiful golf course.”
Conveniently located in central Kauai, the award-winning Ocean Course was fully transformed in 2017 with world-class TifEagle greens, bright white silica sand bunkers, an expanded driving range, a new halfway house and retrofitted Golfboards for guests to “surf the earth.”
“Hokuala continues to live up to its namesake as Hawaii’s ‘rising star’ both on and off the golf course,” said Gary Moore, managing director of Timbers Kauai. “We welcome locals and visitors alike to experience our world-class course, authentic hospitality and unparalleled resort amenities.”
Representing the very best of life on the “Garden Isle,” the Ocean Course offers seasonal packages to enjoy a vacation in paradise. Its new “Swing & Sail” experience combines nine beautiful holes of golf along with a Kalapaki Sunset Catamaran Cruise. The Kauai Beach Boys, hosts of thrilling ocean expeditions for three decades, will entertain with Hawaiian Spinner dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish, humpback whales (in season) and many other types of marine life. Cost of $175 per person includes nine holes of golf, GPS-enabled golf cart and a 2-hour ocean cruise.
The Ocean Course is part of Timbers Kauai Ocean Club & Residences, a new private residential club which opened June 1, 2018 on the island’s picturesque southeast coast. Timbers Kauai sits on a 450-acre natural amphitheater offering unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and Haupu mountain range. The Hokuala experience revolves around its idyllic setting with tennis, hiking, biking, beach activities, mountain adventures, world-class dining and golf.
