OGCOA Panel: Josh Segal (Golf District) on Prepaid Tee Times Without Friction

RESTON, VA – Josh Segal, Co-CEO of Golf District, will speak at the upcoming Ohio Golf Course Owners Association (OGCOA) event, highlighting how first-of-its-kind technology is making it dramatically easier for golf courses to transition to prepaid tee times.

The program will kick off with Kevin Scott, CTO of the PGA of America, speaking on “The Owner’s Role in the Golf Ecosystem,” framing the responsibility course owners have to protect access, revenue, and the long-term health of the game.

Segal will participate in the panel “Managing the No-Show / Short-Show Tee Time Dilemma,” alongside Jason Pearsall of Warren Valley Golf Course and Matt Creech of Tanglewood Golf Course. As one of the technology leaders in golf advocating for broader industry dialogue around prepaid, Segal believes the conversation is becoming increasingly critical as courses look for practical ways to improve both revenue performance and the golfer experience.

“More owners are recognizing that prepaid isn’t just a revenue conversation, it’s an experience conversation,” said Segal. “If courses want to reduce no-shows, improve utilization, and still serve golfers well, prepaid has to be part of the discussion. Golf District was built to make that transition extremely easy for operators, using their existing tee sheet, at no cost to the course.”

Courses using Golf District’s no-cost prepaid booking platform, compatible with the majority of U.S. tee sheet providers, have demonstrated measurable operational and revenue gains. Operators have eliminated no-shows and short-shows, increased average daily rate by 30-40% on prepaid tee times, driven higher day-of-play on-course spending, and filled tee sheets earlier, giving courses greater visibility and control over demand well in advance of play.

Golf District’s full suite of tools, including AI-powered solutions and course-controlled booking capabilities, is already live across six of the major tee sheet systems in the U.S., allowing courses to adopt prepaid quickly without disrupting existing operational workflows.

About Golf District

Golf District is a course-controlled, modern prepaid tee time booking engine for operators. Inspired by proven technology in other high-demand industries, Golf District brings a SeatGeek-style model to golf offering modern prepaid and flexible cancellation options for golfers while keeping courses fully in control.

Golf District integrates directly with a course’s existing tee sheet, enabling 100% prepaid bookings sold through the course’s own website. Courses retain ownership of their data and inventory while offering an on-brand resale option that allows golfers to relist tee times under operator-defined rules and pricing guardrails that protect tee sheet integrity.

By eliminating no-shows and short-shows and converting returned times into resellable inventory, Golf District improves utilization and unlocks incremental revenue participation on resales, while expanding access to tee times golfers couldn’t get before. Golf District also offers weather protection that reimburses golfers without creating rain-check liabilities, saving courses thousands over time. The platform is free for courses to implement.
