Expanding affordable golf course access across Oklahoma, creating limitless
opportunities for youth to play
Oklahoma City, Okla. – Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation and Youth on Course have partnered to expand affordable golf access for young players, allowing Youth on Course members to play at five additional Oklahoma City municipal golf courses. This brings the total number of participating courses in Oklahoma to 16, furthering efforts to make the game more accessible and inclusive.
Youth on Course is a nonprofit dedicated to providing young people with life-changing opportunities through golf by offering rounds for $5 or less at more than 2,100 courses across the United States, Canada, and Australia. In Oklahoma, Youth on Course membership has more than doubled year-over-year, highlighting the growing demand for affordable access to the game. Rounds played have increased by 33%, and with the addition of more municipal courses, that number is expected to climb even higher.
Through this partnership, Youth on Course members can play for free at Oklahoma City municipal courses anytime Monday through Thursday and after noon on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Memberships are $40 per year and can be purchased at youthoncourse.org/join, with discounted memberships available for those in need. Golf cart rentals are not included.

“This is an exciting opportunity for kids in our community,” OKC Parks Director Melinda McMillan-Miller said. “Golf is more popular than ever in Oklahoma City, and Youth on Course is helping our youngest players be part of that movement. By making our public golf courses even more accessible, Youth on Course is giving students the chance to fall in love with golf regardless of income.”
“We are proud to partner with Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation,” said Youth on Course CEO Adam Heieck. “Adding five more municipal courses allows youth greater access to golf, and removes the barrier of cost – empowering young athletes to enjoy the sport, develop their skills and create memories without limitations. This partnership is just the beginning of our efforts to make golf accessible to everyone.”
This collaboration underscores the vital role of municipal golf courses in providing equitable access to the game. As Youth on Course continues to grow, the organization seeks additional course partners to meet the increasing demand from young golfers across the state.
