June 9, 2026

DALLAS, TX — Omni Hotels & Resorts, the official hotel partner of the PGA TOUR and PGA of America, celebrates the conclusion of its second annual Omni Generation Cup held at its acclaimed golf resorts across the U.S. and culminating with the National Championship at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa (Austin, TX),  May 29–31.

Qualifying events for the recently concluded National Championship began in July 2025 on The Old Course at Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa and wrapped up on March 21 on the Fazio Canyons Course at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. The National Championship was contested on the acclaimed Coore Crenshaw and Fazio Canyons Golf Courses at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. This November, Fazio Canyons will also host the inaugural Good Good Championship, an official 2026 PGA TOUR FedExCup Fall event.

“Golf is a game that connects all generations, and the Omni Generation Cup embodies this reality” says Kurt Alexander, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “Our second year  exceeded our expectations in every way, and we are proud to build on that momentum as we enter our third season while we look forward to welcoming even more families to Omni’s extraordinary golf destinations.”

In its brief history, the Generation Cup has quickly established itself as a signature experience within Omni’s golf portfolio, blending competitive play with meaningful connections. Open to players of all skill levels, the tournament emphasizes accessibility, camaraderie, and shared experiences across generations. The format features a two-person shamble with gross and net scoring across multiple divisions including Parent & Child, Grandparent & Grandchild, and PGA Professional & Family Member.

The 2025-2026 season welcomed more than 800 participants nationwide, with participation in returning markets and average field sizes increasing by more than 30% year over year. The tournament also continued to attract a broader range of participants, including more junior golfers ages 10 to 18 and female players, with father-daughter and mother-son teams becoming an increasingly common sight at events across the country. Strong return participation and steady growth through word-of-mouth referrals further underscore the Generation Cup’s growing appeal and the sense of community it continues to foster among golfers of all ages.

“Golf naturally brings generations together in a way that no other sport can,” says Spencer Cody, Corporate Director of Club and Golf for Omni Hotels & Resorts. “With the Generation Cup, we’ve created an experience that’s competitive, inclusive and incredibly fun, giving families a reason to travel, play and connect in a truly special way.”

For Generation Cup National Championship competitor Alexander Parthemer, the tournament’s greatest reward extends well beyond the final scores. “One of the things I enjoy most about the Generation Cup is the opportunity to compete alongside my dad,” said Parthemer. “The event brings together multiple generations through a shared love of the game, and the memories created along the way are far more valuable than anything on the leaderboard.”

Omni is additionally announcing the 2026-2027 Omni Generation Cup schedule of events for a third consecutive year in this joyously competitive golf series, with 12 qualifying events across its golf portfolio beginning on June 14 at Southern California’s Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad just north of San Diego, which just hosted the NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s National Championships. Each qualifying event offers participants the opportunity to compete for a place in the National Championship in the spring of 2027.
